Removing a Calendar Subscription from your calendar software
MakeShift allows employees to share their schedule with their friends and family. It also allows them to revoke access to their schedule.
Unfortunately, there is no technical way for MakeShift to automatically remove a subscribed calendar from your preferred calendar software. If you had previously been subscribed to someone's calendar, but they revoked access, you will see an event in your subscribed calendar every Sunday that links to this support article.
The only way to remove this event from showing up is to manually remove the subscription through your calendar software. A few examples of how to remove this calendar subscription on different calendar apps is described below.
How to Remove a Calendar Subscription
The calendar that you want to remove is most commonly named "<Employee Name> Schedule".
- iPhone/iPad: Navigate to the Settings app, then select 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' and then 'Subscribed Calendars'. Tap the calendar you wish to remove and then tap 'Delete Account'.
- Google Calendar/Android: Log into Google Calendar with your Google Account. Click Settings, then click the Calendars tab. Find the calendar subscription you wish to remove and click 'Unsubscribe'.
- Outlook: In Calendar, under 'My Calendars', right-click the name of the calendar that you want to delete. Click 'Delete Calendar'.
- Mac OS X Calendar: Open the Calendar app. Ctrl-click the calendar in the left-hand panel and select 'Delete'.
If you use a different calendar app, feel free to send us a support request and we will try and help you.
