[Employees](https://support.makeshift.ca/admins-managers?hsLang=en-ca#employees) # Managing an Employee's Availability To manage an employee's availability, please follow these steps:  Select the **People** link from the top navigation bar. ![Peoples Tab](https://support.makeshift.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/New%20KB%20articles%20pictures/Peoples%20Tab.png?width=670&height=45&name=Peoples%20Tab.png) Select the employee whose positions you would like to manage by finding and clicking the name of the desired employee.   ![active list](https://support.makeshift.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/Images/knoledge%20base%20images/active%20list.png?width=618&height=261&name=active%20list.png) Click the **Availability**tab. ![availability tab](https://support.makeshift.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/Images/knoledge%20base%20images/availability%20tab.png?width=640&height=47&name=availability%20tab.png) A calendar will appear representing any availability that an employee has entered in green squares. To add repeating availability or an availability preference, click the green **+** button next to Preferences.  ![preference](https://support.makeshift.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/Images/knoledge%20base%20images/preference.png?width=245&height=50&name=preference.png)   A modal will appear, allowing you to enter a start time and end time. Select a date to start or end repeating availability for the employee on. If you do not select an "Ends On" date, the employee's repeating availability will repeat for an unspecified amount of time. For example, if an employee is available 8AM to 5PM every Wednesday and 9AM to 8PM every Thursday, you will need to set up two separate preferences.
