# How to Colour Code your Schedule
## This article will show you how to colour code your schedule.
Once you are logged into your Makeshift account, click on the **Schedules** tab.
Once there, you can select the drop-down menu, you may select one or more departments.
Once you have made your department selection, click on the green **See Schedules** button. You will note that the number of schedules will be shown on this button. In the example below, we see that 3/10 schedules have been selected.
Once on the schedule, select a shift you wish to colour code. You will note once you click on the shift, you will see a light blue highlight around the shift and then a pop up bar appear at the bottom of your schedule. Click on the blue coloured circle.
By clicking on the blue coloured circle, next to the **Edit** button a new pop modal will appear. Here you can make your colour selection from one of the nine colour options.
Next, you may click on the next shift to colour code or anywhere off of the schedule to make the pop up modal disappear.
