Schedule budgets help determine whether you are hitting your budget targets, over-staffed, etc. Administrators can set budgets for their departments for weekly or daily timeframes. By default, all departments have weekly budgets. Labour budgets must be manually entered.
To access your Labour Budget settings, begin by clicking Departments from the top black navigation bar.
Select the name of the department to get to the schedule.
Click on Profile on the left navigation bar.
Click on the Labour Budget tab.
From here, you can change the weekly budgets to daily. Click Save.
To return to the department schedule, click Schedule in the left navigation bar.
Each day of the week will now show the total daily scheduled costs. You can set daily budgets for either hours or dollar amounts. To change this setting, change the toggle in the weekly budget summary above the calendar.
Directly below the days of the week, you will see the row for daily budgets. From here, you can click the pencil icon beside 'Labor Budget' above the employee names to set budgets for each day of the week.
Once this is selected, an open text field is available each day to set a budget for each weekday.
Once all daily budgets are set for the week, click Save. As you schedule, you will see the number on the left increase based on the new scheduled cost. This happens in real-time to ensure you are immediately aware when you are over-budget.
Blue numbers indicate you are within your budget (under budget).
Red numbers indicate you are over budget.
Above the schedule, a weekly budget value is shown; this is a sum of all the daily budgets. When daily budgets are set, you cannot also set a weekly budget.
By clicking on View Details in budget bar, you can see a more detailed breakdown.
Each day of the week is broken down by Scheduled Costs and Actual Costs.
*If you are looking at the current/previous week and have Time and Attendance enabled, you will also see Actual Hours based on Clock In/Clock Out times.
