[Company Account Settings](https://support.makeshift.ca/admins-managers?hsLang=en-ca#company-account-settings) # Allow Employees to Request Available Shift with Shift/Time Off Conflicts For some companies it may be important to allow employees the ability to request an available shift when they have time off and or a scheduled shift on their schedule. Any company administrator can update these settings using the steps below. As a special note, any company that is utilizing our “advanced call outs” feature will not be able to utilize these features. Select **Settings**. ![settings-1](https://support.makeshift.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/New%20KB%20articles%20pictures/settings-1.png?width=162&height=300&name=settings-1.png) You will now see several tabs to choose from, **General**, **Schedule**, **Time and Attendance** if time and attendance client), **Employment Types** and **Positions**.  ![schedule tab-1](https://support.makeshift.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/New%20KB%20articles%20pictures/schedule%20tab-1.png?width=617&height=58&name=schedule%20tab-1.png) Click on the **Schedule** tab.  ![schedule-1](https://support.makeshift.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/New%20KB%20articles%20pictures/schedule-1.png?width=114&height=60&name=schedule-1.png) Here you will see several settings you can adjust for scheduling purposes.  If you wish to **Allow employees to request an available shift when they have a conflicting time off**, then you may check the box. Please note that a manager must remove all time off conflicts to approve any available shift requests. Once the time off conflict has been removed, you will be able to assign the available shift to the employee. ![conflict in time off-1](https://support.makeshift.ca/hs-fs/hubfs/New%20KB%20articles%20pictures/conflict%20in%20time%20off-1.png?width=460&height=53&name=conflict%20in%20time%20off-1.png) If you wish to **Allow employees to request an available shift when they have a conflicting shift**, then you may check the box.
